Remove
CKS will collect from anywhere in Europe with removal programmes designed to suit you. Your items are barcoded, logged and packed in rigid boxes before being loaded and shipped to our processing centre.
In our last customer satisfaction survey, when asked about collections, 47% said they were pleased and 53% very pleased. We hope to do better next time.
Revive
On arrival at our secure facility, accessible only by personal swipe cards and protected 24/7 by CCTV, all items are recorded on our in-house developed asset tracking system. Items are then tested for functionality and electrical safety. Data on working drives is destroyed using only ITSEC (Information Technology Security Evaluation and Certification) and CESG (Communications Electronics Security Group) approved software. Non-functioning drives are removed and melted down under our personal supervision. Items which fail testing and cannot be refurbished are sent for WEEE complaint recycling. Passed items and then made available for the clients’ chosen reuse.

Reuse
Most electronic equipment discarded by industry is in good working order and quite safe to use. Reuse is the preferred option in the WEEE Directive because each reused item is one less to recycle. Clients have a number of choices for reuse, each offering their own benefits:
- Sell. CKS offer many established sales channels for everything from mobile phones to mainframes. The benefit here is you gain the maximum cash return on your assets.
- Redeploy. This is where organisations choose to redeploy their items within themselves or their group, and it's the fastest growing area of reuse. CKS can rebuild PCs to your specifications, deliver and install if required. The benefit here is you get the greatest use of your assets with minimal effort.
- Donate. Whether it be to your chosen charity, local community or our third world education programmes, CKS can help you and your beneficiaries get the best results. The benefit for you is twofold: it can help with your Corporate Social Responsibilities, and it presents a great image boosting PR opportunity.
- Staff sales. This can be as basic or sophisticated as you like. CKS can data cleanse and test items, then return them for you to manage their sale. Or, you can ask us offer them to your staff via our web based shop - the choice is yours. The benefit here is your staff will appreciate the efforts you're making to offer them a good deal.
Recycling
Inevitably, reuse is no longer possible and items must be recycled. Not only is this strictly WEEE compliant, we also track the items and make certificates of destruction available.
Our track record shows we used best environmental practice long before the WEEE Directive was a twinkle in Brussels' eye, and we're proud of that.
Report
At any time you want, you can have a report showing as much or as little of the assets you've entrusted with us. Because our asset tracking system is developed in-house, CKS can customise any report to reveal what you want, how you want. The choice is entirely yours.
